THALES is looking for a Product Owner to help shape, define and deliver the next generation of Data Enablement and AI capabilities across our UK businesses and customer landscape.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role where you will translate complex operational needs into clear, actionable deliverables for our engineering teams. With a particular focus on UK Front Line Commands, you will help accelerate the adoption of AI, data exploitation and digital technologies across Thales UK.

What will you deliver?
Working as part of the UK cortAIx Factory, you will be responsible for leading the product vision, defining operational needs, and ensuring delivery of AI and data‑driven solutions aligned to customer expectations.
• Act as the key liaison between the cortAIx Factory UK and UK business units/functions
• Facilitate requirements‑gathering sessions and define solution outcomes with stakeholders
• Develop and articulate the product vision, acting as the voice of the customer
• Prioritise and manage the product backlog across epics, features and tasks
• Guide engineering teams to ensure alignment with customer and portfolio expectations
• Validate delivered outcomes against the product vision and operational needs
• Create benefits cases, value models and use‑case definitions for future work
• Work closely with architects and systems engineers to identify optimal digital capabilities
• Ensure critical business information is delivered accurately and on time
• Act as an advocate for the cortAIx Factory and its digital transformation ambitions
• Support change impact analysis and represent customer needs within transformation activities
• Enable UK businesses to adopt common processes, digital tools and methodologies
Who are we looking for?
You will bring a strong understanding of UK military operations, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and proven experience translating operational needs into digital and AI‑enabled solutions.
Essential:
• Strong knowledge of UK military technologies, doctrine and operational processes
• Product ownership experience with the ability to define and translate business needs
• Skilled at facilitating workshops and requirements sessions
• Strong understanding of data, digital technologies and operational efficiencies
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver training, briefings and requirements documentation
• Understanding of project management principles and change management practices
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• High proficiency in MS Office and collaborative toolsets
Desirable:
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
• Broad IT knowledge (infrastructure, architecture, information security, service management)
• Experience with modelling, analysis or simulation tools
• Knowledge of business structures, digital transformation and process optimisation
• Operational or domain experience within UK military environments
• Experience as a Product Owner in a technical or digital environment
This role requires SC Clearance.
It is advantageous if you already hold clearance; however, if not, the successful candidate will be required to undergo, achieve and maintain SC level clearance.
To be eligible for full SC, candidates generally need to have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years. In some cases, a minimum of 3 years’ UK residency within the last 5 years may be acceptable with additional overseas checks.
