Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, including all aspects of 1st/2nd fix, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines. Collaboration with other trades on site is essential. Your work will primarily be in and around the Redditch area.
Responsibilities
1. Construct, install, and repair various wooden structures, including framing, flooring, walls, and staircases.
2. Install doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, and other interior fixtures.
3. Build custom furniture and kitchen units.
4. Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials according to blueprints and specifications.
5. Prepare materials for assembly, including sanding, planning, and finishing.
6. Operate hand and power tools, maintain equipment, and ensure safety compliance.
7. Work on construction sites, ensuring safety regulations are followed and collaborating with other trades.
8. Inspect work for quality and compliance, troubleshoot issues, and communicate updates via tablet and photos.
9. Travel nationwide for projects, with minimal stays away from home.
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years experience in carpentry or related field, preferably within the insurance industry or complaint support.
* Proven skills in framing, finishing, and cabinetry.
* Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and industry practices.
* Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
* Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
