Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed practitioner to join the Bristol Children’s Safeguarding team, as a Band 7 Specialist Nurse for Safeguarding Children. This role is for 37.5 hours a week. This is a varied role, which includes, offering safeguarding supervision and support, delivering integrated Safeguarding training as well as involvement in Child Protection strategies and contribution to MASH and MARAC. We work in partnership with Sirona practitioners, supporting them to provide a safeguarding service to the children, young people, and families they work with. Advert To participate as a Sirona Health Representative within child protection strategy discussions in line with the agreed delegated framework and to seek additional expert advice and support from Community Paediatricians, named and/or designated professionals for more complex cases following preliminary strategy discussions when appropriate and necessary. To participate and contribute to complex Strategy discussion in relation to exploitation and share health information and contribute to safety planning. To oversee, supervise and support the appropriate delegation of work for all members of the Single point of Access Team. To understand and manage the effective and safe handling / sharing of highly complex and contentious information sharing, both written and oral regarding child protection concerns. This will require information to be handled appropriately with adherence to Information Sharing Guidance, Human Rights legislation, GDPR 2018, Child and Adult Safeguarding policies, requirements of the Caldicott Guardian and local policies including Sirona Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Children Partnership Multi-agency guidance and procedures. To lead, supervise and support the SPA team with respect to their function of assessing and analysing all requests for information, follow information governance guidance on the retrieval, collation, sharing and storage of information to provide an evidence-based risk assessment as a contribution to the strategy discussion and risk determination process processes. To lead, oversee and co-ordinate the request and receipt for any specific information from relevant practitioners across the health provider community regarding family health, maternity health, school health, mental health, domestic abuse and violence and substance misuse to assist the strategy process and decision making. Be able to support and direct junior/ less experienced members of the team with the changing and sometime completing demands of the role from agencies such as Children's Social Care.
