Manufacturing Engineer A leading technology and engineering organisation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of existing and new product lines. This position plays a critical role in sustaining a LEAN Manufacturing culture, focusing on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and process optimisation across operations. The role involves close collaboration with design, production, and quality teams to ensure efficient product introduction and manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing production processes and tools, driving improvements, and contributing to high-quality manufacturing outcomes in a technically complex environment. Key Responsibilities: * Define and implement production Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing processes to support operational requirements. * Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, assisting in root cause analysis and resolution. * Create and maintain manufacturing method sheets, work instructions, and process routings. * Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring manufacturing readiness and process robustness. * Assist in the transition of products and improvements from development to production. * Lead or contribute to production downtime reporting and performance tracking. * Facilitate the implementation of engineering changes, including documentation, procedures, and production updates. * Collaborate with Quality and Procurement teams to address supplier-related concerns. * Work independently or within a cross-functional team to meet manufacturing goals. Desired Skills & Experience: * Experience in clean room environments is beneficial. * Proficient in designing and developing jigs, fixtures, and assembly/test tooling. * Familiarity with high-tech, low-volume manufacturing environments, particularly those involving precision assembly or high-voltage systems. * Strong problem-solving skills, especially in diagnosing manufacturing or design issues. * Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience with knowledge of industry best practices. * Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * Willingness to travel as required by the role. Qualifications: * Understanding of lean manufacturing and waste reduction methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma). * Experience in process planning and supplier engagement. * Proficient with standard software tools; knowledge of 3D CAD systems is a plus. * Minimum of HNC/HND in an engineering or scientific field, or equivalent relevant experience. * Familiarity with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and engineering change processes. * Demonstrated commitment to continuous technical learning and improvement
