Merchandising Planner – Global Retail Brand A rare opportunity has arisen to join a globally recognised, high-profile retail brand as a merchandising planner, based in West London. This is a pivotal role with real influence over purchasing strategy, working across multi-channel retail including stores, eCommerce, and marketplaces. You’ll take ownership of category planning, buying decisions, and margin performance, partnering with major external licensees and senior internal stakeholders. Leading a team of four, you’ll balance commercial strategy with hands-on analysis—driving performance while confidently challenging decisions where needed. This role offers strong visibility, including exposure to director-level stakeholders, and the chance to shape product strategy at scale. Key responsibilities include: - Owning purchase volumes, forecasting, and margin control - Leading pre-season and in-season planning across channels - Managing and developing a high-performing team - Partnering with major external licensees and negotiating effectively - Driving data-led decisions and influencing senior stakeholders - Identifying risks and opportunities to optimise trading performance We’re looking for: - Proven experience in merchandising planning within a retail environment - Strong background working with licensed products/partners is essential - Experience with toys is a plus (not essential) - A highly analytical, data-driven mindset (advanced Excel essential) - Confident leadership and stakeholder management skills - The ability to operate with autonomy and conviction in a matrix environment Package: - £56-58,000 15% bonus - Hybrid working (4 days office, 1 day WFH) - Private medical, dental, staff discount, life assurance and additional benefits - Excellent progression and development opportunities If you’re commercially sharp, confident in your decisions, and ready to step into a high-impact role with global exposure, this could be the ideal next move.
