We are looking for a visionary leader to lead a transformative turnaround of our retail infrastructure. This is about transitioning a traditional operation into a high performing charity retail business that directly impacts hospice care, by maximising profit, to enable us to maximise our care.

As a senior leader, reporting to the Finance Director, the postholder will lead a comprehensive transformation of the Southern Hospice Group (SHG) retail operation currently 35 shops and 2 warehouses. This is a critical turnaround opportunity designed to modernise our operating model, infrastructure, and commercial culture. You will lead the transition from a traditional charity shop model into a high performing, multi-channel retail business to one that maximises financial contribution to hospice care through innovation and strategic portfolio management.
As the primary voice of Retail within the organisation, you will ensure that business and retail expertise informs wider organisational decision making. You will champion the strategic importance of our retail footprint, not only as our primary engine for sustainable income but as vital brand touchpoints, community assets, and public facing gateways for the charity’s wider mission.
