Summary
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the Custodian has the primary responsibility for cleaning the Stoney Nakoda Child & Family Services building in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Clean, dust, and disinfect desks, cabinets, and office daily and wash office chairs weekly
* Wash walls monthly or as required
* Empty/ clean garbage containers daily and place these tied bags in a closed dumpster
* Clean, dust and disinfect all surfaces such as windowsills, ledges, shelves, light fixtures daily
* Clean, dust and disinfect computers, printers, and telephones daily
* Sweep, wash, and then disinfect floors daily
* Vacuum (daily) and shampoo carpets as required
* Clean and disinfect washrooms
* ensure the continued supply of washroom accessories
* Ensure that all areas of the building are clear of debris
* Clean and maintain custodian equipment after each use
* Secure building and report any unauthorized occupants
* Assist in the instruction and supervision of casual workers and student help
* Any and all duties requested by supervisor
Education and Skill
* Previous experience in similar role an asset
* Completion of a WHIMIS Certificate considered an asset
* Must be physically able to perform duties which include moderate lifting & moving
* Must be motivated and able to work independently
* Must be able to communicate effectively and be a team player
Conditions of Employment
* Must have reliable transportation
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality
* Fluent in the Stoney Language considered an asset
