E&I Construction Manager Locations: Northwest England| North Wales| South Wales Sector: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical The Construction Manager Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and authoritative E&I Construction Manager to lead site execution for major industrial projects. This is a high-level leadership role requiring a safety-conscious professional to oversee day-to-day operations, including the management of labour, subcontractors, quality, and commercial controls. The successful candidate will be a proactive site leader, comfortable managing multiple trades in fast-paced environments and ensuring project delivery remains on schedule and within budget. Construction Manager Key Responsibilities Site Execution: Lead the safe implementation of construction activities, including pre-mobilisation planning, HSE plans, RAMS, and ITPs. Commercial & Cost Control: Monitor project measures and SE, account for deviations from budget man-hours, and manage variations/early warnings for works outside of scope. Resource Management: Oversee manpower allocation, procurement of long-lead items, and the selection/management of specialist subcontractors. Reporting: Maintain rigorous daily field reports and chair internal weekly meetings to track progress against the master schedule. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works comply with technical specifications, Codes of Practice, and HSEQ policies, managing the project through to walk-downs, punch-listing, and final commissioning (IQ/OQ). Construction Manager Requirements Experience: Minimum of 10 years Construction Management experience specifically within the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Pharmaceutical sectors. Background: An Electrical Trade background is strongly preferred. Leadership: Proven ability to manage and motivate large, multi-disciplinary teams and specialist vendors. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial issues, contract disputes, and the enforcement of strict Safety Legislation. Personal Attributes: A "can-do" attitude with the ability to make firm, timely decisions under pressure. You must be prepared to work extended hours as per site requirements.
