The post holder will be based in the Dermatology Department at the Prosser White Dermatology Unit, Leigh Infirmary. They will actively contribute to the delivery of dermatology services for the acute service at Leigh Infirmary. The post holder will act as Clinical Supervisor for two GPST2 doctors training in the department and will be expected to comply fully with all aspects of clinical governance.
The Specialty Doctor will participate in outpatient clinics at Leigh Infirmary and cover for colleagues' brief absences, including emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, as far as practicable and without additional remuneration. Short-term cover for sick colleagues will normally be during the standard working day.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing general dermatology outpatient clinics within a consultant-led secondary care service.
2. Serving as Clinical Supervisor for two GPST2 doctors, including conducting monthly tutorials with each trainee.
3. Carrying out two outpatient clinics per week, with flexibility to support nursing staff and provide advice, as reflected in the agreed job plan.
