Purpose of the Role
As Six Stories enters its next phase of high-growth, we’re looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Head of Commercial & Operations to help steer our scaling business. Sitting at the intersection of finance, logistics and commercial strategy, you’ll take the reins of our operations and financial clarity - empowering the founders to focus on brand and growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own the day-to-day engine of the business, helping to embed structure, rigor, and operational excellence, while keeping flexibility and creativity alive. You’ll work across teams and borders, making sure our operations match the scale of our ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Commercial Clarity
* Oversee weekly/monthly management reporting and support budgeting/forecasting
* Manage our accountant, cashflow, and cost controls
* Identify and mitigate operational and financial risk
Operational Leadership
* Own global logistics (3PLs, freight, international fulfilment)
* Manage end-to-end operations from supplier to customer (returns, packaging, fulfilment)
* Coordinate with Product, Buying, and Merch on cross-functional flow
Customer Experience Oversight
* Lead our Customer Service function to ensure SLAs and feedback loops evolve as we scale
* Partner with CS Manager to enhance tools, training, and performance
Commercial Projects
* Lead and implement cost-saving or revenue-enhancing initiatives (e.g. returns strategy, duty mitigation, packaging)
* Build commercial business cases and drive project execution
What We’re Looking For:
* 4+ years’ experience in commercial/ops roles within DTC ecommerce business. (founder lead experience highly desired)
* Strong financial acumen; able to translate data into business decisions
* Experience with 3PLs and international logistics
* High ownership mentality; thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
* Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator
* Resourceful, with a love for solving operational puzzles
* Ambitious and wants to make a real difference to a fast growing company
