Eyewitness News also provides news, weather and sports information 24 hours a day on ABC11.com, the ABC11 mobile news app and the new connected TV app.
The Digital EP oversees a team of digital journalists to ensure our content creation aligns to the Station’s overall brand and journalistic standards to optimize audience reach.
Job Summary:
The Digital Executive Producer is responsible for overseeing the creation and distribution of news content across all digital platforms, including Station website, mobile apps, and social media.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
1. Use insights to drive editorial and strategic decision making for the digital team and the newsroom as a whole and create accountability for the results.
2. Assist in leading our newsroom to develop workflows that deliver our content 24/7 across current and future platforms with storytelling that is optimized for each screen.
3. Dominating breaking news with speed and accuracy, owning the big story, and growing new opportunities in our multi-media environment.
4. Coach and mentor the news team in best practices for writing and producing content for digital and social platforms.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
1. Minimum five years' experience in audience development/news.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Team leader who interacts in a positive, ethical, empathetic and productive way with other employees and the general public.
4. Flexible and available to work various shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Previous experience as an editor of a news website.
Basic Education:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
1. College Degree.
