All we accomplish is grounded in our core values of Customer Focus, Achievement, Accountability, Teamwork, Employee Value and Integrity Job Title Vice President & General Manager, Consumable and Instruments Job Description Job Summary: The Vice President & General Manager (VP/GM) will lead and manage a key business unit within Azenta, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and financial performance. This position will be responsible for setting the vision, developing and executing business strategies, and ensuring alignment with Azenta’s overall strategic business objectives. The VP/GM will oversee all aspects of the business unit, including P&L management, product management and development, customer engagement, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Customer Relationship Ownership: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners. Serve as the executive sponsor for major accounts, ensuring alignment between customer needs and Azenta’s delivery capabilities. Ensure Azenta meets or exceeds expectations related to product performance, service, quality, and innovation. Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the business, ensuring alignment with Azenta’s corporate vision and growth objectives. Identify opportunities for innovation, operational improvement, and customer-centric enhancements. Drive effective capital deployment that enhances growth and improves operations. Business System & Financial Acumen: Ability to embrace and effectively deploy the Azenta Business System to meet the critical KPIs for the business and promptly identify and implement countermeasures when the critical metrics are off track. Financial acumen to understand the business in depth, including profitability by product line, to drive appropriate resource allocation decisions. Product Development & Innovation: Lead product strategy and development efforts. Ensure that product development priorities, timelines, and investments are aligned with business goals and customer requirements. Operational Excellence: Oversee global manufacturing, supply chain, and service delivery operations to ensure efficiency, scalability, and quality. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best-in-class operational practices. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products and services meet the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other businesses and corporate functions to ensure seamless execution and enterprise alignment. Support commercial teams with technical expertise and customer insights. Customer-Centric Execution: Champion a customer-first mindset across the organization. Ensure that customer feedback informs product development, operational priorities, and service delivery models. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team across functions. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development. Mentor future leaders and drive succession planning. Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 15 years of progressive leadership experience in general management, product management, operations, or P&L ownership. Proven track record of leading a business unit or large organization within a life sciences, biotech, or technology-driven organization. Experience managing complex operations and driving transformational growth. Strong understanding of global markets and customer dynamics. Skills and Competencies: Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and analytical skills. Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities. Results-oriented with a focus on execution and operational excellence. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. High integrity, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
