Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk

* Full-time: Mon-Fri 9:00am - 5:30pm
* Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Dependent On Experience
* In Person Role (No Remote Working) at Age Care Bathrooms, Staveley, S43 3PF

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day processing of both the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial record-keeping and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger:

* Raise and issue sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner
* Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
* Process customer payments and assist with credit control
* Follow up on outstanding payments and liaise with customers regarding invoice queries

Purchase Ledger:

* Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately
* Match, batch, and code invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
* Prepare payment runs
* Maintain and update supplier records

General:

* Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reports
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice or payment queries
* Assist with audits and provide requested documentation
* Support other team members as needed

Key Skills & Requirements:

* Proven experience in a similar finance or accounts role
* Strong knowledge of sales and purchase ledger processes
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* AAT qualification (desirable but not essential)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
