We are looking for a Field Service Commissioning Engineer who will provide a service to Eaton customers, carrying out preventative maintenance on our UPSs manufactured in the Eaton Electrical business, and maintain other existing UPS equipment to fulfill customer requirements in line with Eaton Safety requirements. You will focus on hyperscale data centers in the region.
Responsibilities
* Commissioning of large UPS systems.
* Understand on-line and line-interactive UPS systems.
* Create and use commissioning scripts.
* Carry out site acceptance testing on customer sites.
* Use and understand power quality meters.
* Perform thermography and report findings.
* Maintain battery systems – VRLA and Lithium Ion.
* Set up and configure remote monitoring software.
* Communicate with key stakeholders on a technical level.
* Apply anti‑static policies and procedures.
* Apply the ECN process to all repairs.
Qualifications
* Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
* Possessing three‑phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge.
* Good understanding of UPS systems.
* Knowledgeable of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP.
* Knowledgeable in programming PLC control systems for power control, generator control, SCADA or process control.
Working Arrangement
* Position is 100% remote.
* On‑site travel to customer in South of England is required.
