Logistics Coordinator
Location: Retford, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, office-based
The Opportunity
A well-established and expanding construction manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to take ownership of transport and delivery operations across the UK.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll be at the centre of daily logistics planning — ensuring materials, products, and equipment reach construction sites safely, efficiently, and on time. Your work will directly support live projects and factory output, playing a vital role in keeping programmes on track, managing transport risk, and controlling delivery costs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to support manufacturing output and active construction sites
Act as the main point of contact for hauliers, drivers, site managers, project teams, customers, and suppliers
Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in line with project programmes
Manage and resolve transport challenges such as delays, route restrictions, site access issues, breakdowns, and urgent changes
Arrange abnormal and oversized loads, including route planning, permits, and regulatory compliance
Monitor logistics performance and produce regular delivery and transport reports
Track and maintain accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
Support cost control by monitoring transport spend and identifying efficiencies
Maintain accurate transport records in line with company procedures and legal requirements
Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve planning, minimise disruption, and drive continuous improvement
Experience Required
Solid experience in logistics coordination, transport planning, or fleet management
Background in construction, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is highly desirable
Experience managing multiple daily deliveries to live sites
Understanding of construction site logistics, delivery sequencing, and access limitations
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of transport planning, routing, and scheduling
Good understanding of UK road transport regulations, permits, and load restrictions (including abnormal loads)
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with site teams, hauliers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Effective problem-solver, particularly under pressure or when handling urgent logistics issues
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and record-keeping
Commercial awareness with a basic understanding of transport cost control
