Title: Bid Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + bonus
Shift: Monday - Friday, Day Shift
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Our client, a global leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead and manage the full lifecycle of bids and quotations, from initial opportunity through to submission and final approval.
In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional internal teams, ensuring all proposals are completed accurately, on time, and in line with both company standards and client requirements. You will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, applying structured methodologies and best practices to manage costings, pricing strategies, and risk considerations to deliver competitive and compliant submissions.
The Bid Manager Role:
* Drive business growth by leading the bidding process to win new contracts and retain existing clients.
* Monitor and manage opportunities, aligning them with incoming customer requirements.
* Define and capture project scope, ensuring all bid criteria and requirements are met.
* Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for products and services.
* Work with cross-functional teams to establish bid foundations, incorporating both one-time and recurring costs.
* Develop cost phasing estimates to support budgeting, manage risks, and apply financial analysis to assess bid feasibility.
* Organise and lead internal review sessions to track bid progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
* Manage customer interactions throughout the bidding process, including participation in external reviews when needed. Present bids and proposals to senior leadership and internal stakeholders for review and authorisation.
* Utilise historical bid data to improve accuracy and enhance competitiveness.
* Encourage team collaboration, share best practices, and celebrate successful bid outcomes.
You’ll need:
* Proven experience in successfully delivering project-based bids is essential.
* Aerospace industry experience is preferred, with familiarity in New Product Development (NPD) programmes.
* Knowledge of aerospace qualification standards and requirements is advantageous.
* Strong expertise in bid management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial evaluation.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is essential and xperience with Salesforce is desirable
* Relevant project or bid management training and certifications are preferred.
* Proven ability to engage and interface effectively with external customers is essential.
* Self-driven, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
* Ability to develop clear, detailed plans, combined with strong communication and presentation skills.
