About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Manager to lead and manage our asbestos team, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and promoting best practices in asbestos management. This role involves maintaining accurate records, overseeing surveys, managing contractors, and ensuring safety across all asbestos-related operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the asbestos team, ensuring compliance and high performance.
* Maintain and update the asbestos register and database with accurate ACM information.
* Oversee asbestos surveys, inspections, and risk assessments across all sites.
* Develop, implement, and review the Asbestos Management Plan (AMP).
* Ensure compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and all relevant H&S legislation.
* Manage asbestos removal and remediation projects, ensuring safe contractor practices.
* Provide expert advice and training on asbestos management to staff and stakeholders.
* Coordinate emergency response procedures for asbestos-related incidents.
* Monitor budgets and ensure cost-effective asbestos management.
* Represent the organisation during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
About You
You’ll have strong experience in asbestos management within the social housing sector, with in-depth knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. You’ll be qualified to P405, P$402 and confident managing surveys, risk assessments, and removal works. A skilled communicator and team leader, you can liaise effectively with contractors, residents, and internal teams while ensuring compliance, safety, and best practice at every stage.
We're Looking For Someone Who Brings
* Wealth of knowledge and understanding of managing Asbestos in both domestic and communal properties
* Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex asbestos-related programmes from inception to completion.
* Effective cross-organisation engagement with other teams to ensure joined-up service development and delivery
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting survey data, identifying risks, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, deliver training, and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
* A commitment to resident safety and wellbeing, ensuring that all works are carried out with minimal disruption and maximum transparency.
