As a Project Manager, you will be working within groups in the AMRCNW or across multiple groups in this exciting opportunity.
You will be part of projects that range in scale and duration but will all focus on developing and demonstrating robust and world‑leading methods of manufacture that will be taken from the shop floor and embedded into an industry partner site.
You will support an integrated project team built specifically to meet the requirements of the project you are working on. You will be required to use creative thinking and problem‑solving skills, combining research and technology theories with applied manufacturing solutions in a non‑production environment.
For this role you need experience as a Project Manager to a reasonable level. Experience in an engineering and client‑facing environment is an advantage, but not essential. We are looking for good Project Managers from any background as on‑the‑job training will allow you to work efficiently in this high‑paced environment. Essential qualities include the ability to communicate and motivate a team of staff and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Scoping, planning and delivery of a variety of projects and programmes.
* Ownership and support / preparation of project and programme budgets, in collaboration with Research Engineers.
* Detailed management, control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
* Inputting, ordering and interrogating finance data to deliver projects and programmes to budget.
* Responsible for monthly invoicing and deeper financial review of projects and programmes.
* Management and support of Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators within your ‘team of teams’.
* Making presentations to customers and senior management on project updates, cycle, and expected results.
* Supporting and participating in project teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
* Presenting results to internal and external stakeholders at all levels professionally and concisely.
* Being responsible for short, medium and long‑term projects and programmes in own area, or contributing to group planning.
* Liaising with partners and suppliers to form good relationships.
* Carrying out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Relevant and specific Project Management work experience.
* Essential: Client‑facing or customer service work experience at all levels of business.
* Essential: Ability to undertake short, medium and long‑term projects and programmes up to £5m.
* Essential: Formal PM qualification such as PMQ or Prince 2 Practitioner certification.
* Essential: Experience in managing project teams and reporting methods.
* Essential: IT skills across Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project – basic to intermediate.
* Essential: Effective written and verbal communication, report writing skills, and experience delivering presentations.
* Essential: Ability to assess, organise resources, plan and progress work activities using Microsoft Project, SAP and other tools.
* Essential: Experience delivering a range of project management approaches (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc).
* Essential: Ability to actively participate and lead meetings with customers or staff at all levels.
* Essential: Experience in interviewing and recruiting project team staff.
* Desirable: Experience reviewing individual or team progress and performance and embedding organisational strategy into performance planning.

Salary: £38,784 – £47,389
Work arrangement: Full‑time
Baseline personnel security standard: This role requires the postholder to undertake a Government baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) check as a condition of employment.
