Deputy Head of Finance (Interim – 1 Year)
Hybrid 3 days (with travel to HQ near London – 2 days) Monday to Friday 37.5 hours
£57,000 per annum | 30 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
Full-time | Fixed-term (12 months)
Our client is seeking a proactive Deputy Head of Finance for a one-year interim role. You’ll lead payroll, support financial reporting, manage cash flow, and supervise a small finance team.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee monthly payroll and liaise with external providers.
* Draft management accounts (P&L, balance sheet).
* Maintain cash flow forecasts and assist with year-end accounts.
* Line-manage Finance Officer and Assistant.
* Drive improvements in systems and controls.
Qualifications
* Strong literacy/numeracy; degree desirable.
* Qualified or part-qualified (ACMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
* Payroll qualification (desirable).
Experience
* Hands-on payroll experience in complex environments.
* Knowledge of Cascade/IRIS and Sage Intacct.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Collaboration with HR and multi-site teams.
* Staff/volunteer management experience
Skills

* Analytical, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
* Confidential, flexible, and deadline-driven.
The Deputy Head of Finance will be immediately available, have full right to work in the UK and the role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
