About the product
The core product is a search, booking and administration tool widely used by travel agents and tour operators globally. It is well-recognised within the travel industry, having won multiple awards. Traveltek is investing significantly in the existing product components to enhance the platform's flexibility and scalability. You'll play a fundamental role in ensuring these outcomes along with reliability and security.
About the job
Like many organisations, Traveltek have been implementing AI projects for the past few years. They need you to bring your wealth of knowledge and success to define and deliver a cohesive strategy for Traveltek that aligns platform, infrastructure, internal IT, data, and AI initiatives with commercial goals. This will include a 12‑month DevOps & IT roadmap with quarterly OKRs and published metrics that show clear business value.
You will lead and grow a high‑performing team of three covering the service desk, systems/infra, security, data and AI. There will be a strong emphasis on cloud optimisation via AWS, focusing on performance, security and cost. While maintaining IT security and scalability, you'll have the creativity to introduce new practices that ensure the business thrives, managing your budget with a commercial mindset — balancing innovation with ROI.
Responsibilities
* Lead and grow a high‑performing team of three covering the service desk, systems/infra, security, data and AI.
* Define and deliver a cohesive 12‑month DevOps & IT roadmap with quarterly OKRs and published metrics showing clear business value.
* Prioritise cloud optimisation via AWS with a focus on performance, security and cost.
* Maintain IT security and scalability while introducing new practices to drive business outcomes.
* Manage budget with a commercial mindset, balancing innovation with ROI.
Qualifications
* Experience leading DevOps teams or similar roles (e.g., DevOps Team Lead, Senior DevOps Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Lead or IT Manager with DevOps exposure) and a track record of delivering AI integrations within DevOps.
Benefits and working model
The company has undergone significant transformation and operates a hybrid working model. Travel to Glasgow and/or the Greater Manchester area is expected approximately one day a week. The salary is competitive for this market, and the package includes pension contributions and healthcare benefits.
