Job Title: Resettlement Worker Location: Portsmouth Job Type: Full time Working hours: 37 hours per week (some evenings / weekends required) Recruiting manager: Resettlement Manager Salary : £27,991 per annum Inspire. Your Role & Responsibilities: As a Temporary Accommodation Support Services (TASS) Resettlement Worker, you will deliver tailored, floating support to individuals and families in Portsmouth City Council’s temporary accommodation. You will: Carry out initial assessments and create person-centered support plans. Work intensively with clients to promote positive behaviours and help them understand their responsibilities as tenants. Support clients in managing finances, maintaining tenancies, and improving daily living skills. Promote independence by helping clients access services, education, employment, and community resources. Conduct regular visits (including to hotels and B&Bs), keeping accurate records using our case management system (Advice Pro). Liaise with partner agencies and represent The Roberts Centre at meetings and reviews. Safeguard vulnerable adults and children, carrying out dynamic risk assessments as needed. Take an active role in continuous improvement and contribute to our supportive team culture. Who We’re Looking For: A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable individuals or families with children. Strong understanding of homelessness and how it affects people. Knowledge of the welfare benefits system (desirable). Able to assess needs, develop support plans, and motivate positive change. Confident in managing challenging behaviour and complex situations. Skilled in multi-agency working and clear, empathetic communication. Excellent organisational skills and accurate record-keeping. A proactive team player who upholds professional boundaries and confidentiality. Able to reflect, learn, and contribute to service development. Requirements: Full driving licence and access to a car insured for business use. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis.
