Job Overview
Join us as a Technical Officer and play a pivotal role in improving the county’s bus network through the National Bus Strategy and Wiltshire’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).
This role offers a unique chanceto make arealdifference in the lives of Wiltshire’s residents, improving transport options, supporting sustainabilitygoalsand helping to build a more connected, greener county.
Responsibilities
* Plan, shape and lead implementation of bus infrastructure projects, including new bus stops,sheltersand bus priority schemes.
* Oversee the audit andmaintenance ofexisting infrastructure, coordinate datacollectionand collaborate with internal teams, busoperatorsand external partners on development projects.
* Engage with local representatives, drive improvements in passenger satisfaction,reliabilityand punctuality.
* Assist with funding bids, monitorprojecteffectivenessand contribute to updating the Bus Service Improvement Plan as needed.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a transport-related field, with experience working in passenger transport, transport planning or civil engineering.
* Proven project management skills, the ability to analyse and evaluate transport data, and a high levelof numeracy for statistical analysis.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills are essential, along with proficiency in relevant computer applications, including spreadsheets and GIS software.
