Description
To fulfil a number of editorial and logistical roles for GMB. The role works on a roster pattern across newsdesk and output, early, late, weekend and overnight work will be required.
We are proposing to do interview week commencing Monday 30th March. Key Responsibilities
1. Work across the newsdesk & on output of the GMB programme
2. Key liaison point between newsdesk and on-the-road teams
3. To answer newsdesk phones, dealing with callers and prioritising information
4. Coordinate the assignment of crews
5. Assist the news editors with interview bids and finding contributors
6. Conducting filming & interviews
7. Editing ulays and video content using Avid
8. Researching and selecting archive
9. Sourcing and logging picture and stills
10. Assist with research and the writing of briefs
11. May act up to Multi-Skilled Producer on occasion
12. Ensure GMB coverage reflects and showcases a diverse range of opinions, matters and communities and champions diversity
13. Work with the weather presenter to oversee and produce weather graphics
14. Oversee weather graphics and viewers' comments in the gallery during live TX

15. You must possess either the relevant journalism qualification (BJTC, NCTJ or equivalent) or have relevant journalism/newsroom experience
16. Be a team player and a good communicator
17. Be ambitious and agile in your approach
18. A good understanding of technology – ability to video edit on avid, use of wolftech on a consistent basis or ability to learn/develop new skills quickly
19. Good organisational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task under pressure, whilst retaining strong attention to detail
20. Flexible worker with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving
21. An excellent general knowledge of news and current affairs
22. A genuine interest in, and knowledge of, the ITV News agenda
23. Good knowledge of Ofcom regulations and the laws affecting journalists
24. Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
25. A full, clean UK driving licence is not essential, but desirable
