This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation at a pivotal stage in its successful journey. As Head of Contract Management, you’ll take ownership of the contract management function, leading a team of Contract Managers and working closely with the Commercial Director to shape the future of the commercial team. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring customer relationships deliver mutual value — combining commercial excellence, operational efficiency, and exceptional service standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop a team of Contract Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee major customer contracts to ensure profitability, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
* Build and strengthen strategic relationships with customers at all levels — operational, commercial and senior leadership.
* Drive contract performance, including KPI achievement, cost management, and service delivery.
* Lead negotiations on pricing, renewals and service levels to ensure commercially favourable outcomes.
* Develop and implement consistent contract management processes, templates and reporting tools.
* Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to contract terms and legal obligations.
* Partner with internal teams across Operations, Finance, Procurement and Legal to deliver seamless service and commercial success.
* Promote best practice, innovation and efficiency across the contract management function.
About You
* Experienced leader with a proven track record in managing and developing teams of managers.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract management, with experience gained in logistics, transport, warehousing, or distribution environments.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and influence financial performance.
* Skilled negotiator with a solid understanding of contract law and administration.
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building ability at all levels.
* Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Organised and resilient, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in contract management software, ERP systems and MS Office suite.
* Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or similar (professional qualifications such as CSCP or CPM desirable).
