The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust includes major teaching hospitals. A wide range of equipment is used for medical work - diagnosis, monitoring, therapy and technical work - throughout its wards, theatres, and clinical departments. The Clinical Engineering Department delivers high quality medical device maintenance repair and management services within MFT.
Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join MFT Clinical Engineering Team as Clinical Engineers, providing innovation, support and continuous improvement for our cross site workshops and IT and database systems and processes. Our department is accredited to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Standard and is responsible for the management of all types of reusable medical device. The varied and interesting work includes ensuring efficient and timely maintenance and repair of equipment, keeping accurate records, and dealing with clients on a range of medical device management issues. You will be expected to be the face of Clinical Engineering when in contact with our clients.
Requirements
 * You are expected to have knowledge of basic scientific and engineering principles along with awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
 * You will be mainly based at workshops in Manchester Oxford Road, Wythenshawe, North Manchester or Trafford General but will need to be flexible as you will also be working at various Hospitals throughout Greater Manchester.
 * You will need to have a logical and methodical approach to your work. You will need to be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
 * It would be advantageous if you have experience in the field of engineering although this is not essential to the role.
