Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate midwife to lead our directorate response to FGM and ensure women and families receive the highest standard of care, support and advocacy. This is a key specialist role within our Vulnerable womens team acting as the clinical lead delivering high quality culturally sensitive care to women affected by FGM.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist midwifery care for women affected by FGM.
* Offer expert advice and training to all midwives, obstetricians and wider staff on FGM related care and safeguarding.
* Work closely with multi‑agency partners including social care and third‑sector organisations.
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and national guidance.
* Contribute to audits and service delivery of an effective FGM care pathway.
* Provide training to all staff regarding FGM including deinfibulation.
* Support the four partner Trusts of the Black Country Provider Collaborative (Dudley Group NHS FT, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust, and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust) to deliver a collective vision focused on better, faster and safer care.
* Look at new models of care that improve service delivery, such as organising elective/ planned care into hot and cold arrangements, consolidating resources and standardising care across the four sites.
* Work flexibly across the four partner Trusts to better meet patient and service needs.
* Support sustainable practices and deliver Green Strategic Plan.
