Senior Physiotherapist - Health Care of Elderly
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Health Care of Elderly team. This role is suitable for Band 5s looking to specialise or current Band 6s seeking broader experience.
The successful candidate will work alongside existing team leads to manage health care of elderly and medical in-patient wards, supported by specialists in their field.
The role involves delivering a seven-day physiotherapy service within a multidisciplinary team, with a requirement for broad post-graduate experience, including in medical specialties.
Key responsibilities include performing advanced assessments, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans, managing own caseload autonomously, and providing support and supervision to junior staff.
Main duties of the job
Provide high-standard physiotherapy services to elderly and medical patients across various settings, including community/home visits, and deputise for Team Leaders as needed.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, 'Priority', and 'At Risk' status applicants with relevant recent experience, including NHS At Risk staff in Devon.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in acute hospital settings and teaching
* Awareness of NHS issues and contribution to clinical education
* Experience in elderly care, trauma units, and MDT working
Qualifications
* BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Relevant professional courses and MSc preferred
Aptitude and Abilities
* Professional demeanor, clear handwriting, leadership qualities
