JR295 - CNC Shift LeadLocation: BathSalary: £57,000 Per AnnumOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a CNC Shift Lead on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.The successful candidate will lead shift operations within a CNC machine shop environment, ensuring production targets, safety standards, quality requirements, and continuous improvement objectives are achieved while maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.Duties and Responsibilities:
* Lead shift operations to achieve production targets and daily performance goals.
* Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Manage Team Leaders and oversee labour allocation, performance, and training needs.
* Maintain a visible leadership presence and promote a positive team culture.
* Oversee daily machine shop activities, troubleshooting issues to maintain workflow.
* Ensure accurate job bookings, reporting, and operational records.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap.
* Coordinate maintenance and TPM activities to ensure machine reliability.
* Maintain housekeeping standards and support audit compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
* Demonstrable ability to set and run the majority of machine tools within defined processes.
* Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
* Open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, and forward-thinking approach.
* Positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
* Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
* Computer literate.
