Job Title: Field Performance Manager
Location: Canterbury, Aylesford or Ashford- Kent- (Full Driving licence is essential due to site visit requirement)
Perm/FTC: Permanent
Hours: 37
Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum- depending on skills and experience



With the rapidly changing environment and all of the complexities this brings, working as an FPM will provide you with a wealth of different activities to sink your teeth into.



As a Field performance manager within our WasteWater team, you will be responsible for the performance of safe, compliant and cost efficient operation and maintenance of all assets within a specific geographical area. You will be primarily looking after the efficiency, productivity, standards and quality to ensure compliance, serviceability and optimisation of treatment assets by leading a team of skilled operators and working alongside teams from different departments including your peers and SMT, MEICA and Process Scientists. Working alongside external partners and stakeholders and positively maintain working relationships will be key to your success in this role.



Your duties would also include:



· Building, leading and directing a competent and effective team to deliver compliance, levels of service and serviceability targets

· Integrating asset processes into water/wastewater to ensure consistency to asset issues, drive data improvements and inform the business plan to ensure consistency and efficiency of operation

· Driving team and individual performance in terms of productivity and utilization target achievement

· Undertaking high level monitoring of operational performance and to take action to resolve as necessary.

· Liaising with external contractors on works affecting site(s) and manage them where required

· Ensuring safety processes and procedures are followed within the operational area and ensure that the team comply with the requirements of Health and Safety as set out by Southern Water

· Keeping an overview of ISO14001 requirements within the operational area to ensure the team comply with the requirements of SW's Environmental Management System.

· Coachong, mentor, develop and performance manage the team with a key focus on employee engagement to deliver compliance at least cost

· To deal with external regulatory bodies and represent the company to the media as required to manage events and incidents in own area in and out-of-hours as required



With the impact of our operations on the environment being at the forefront of everything we do, you will be tasked to drive improvements in the operations of your sites and the assets within them, looking at ways to change what we do for the better of all parties, mainly our customers and of course THE ENVIRONMENT.



In order to achieve your goals, you will need to inspire and motivate your team whilst also being able to empathise and understand as each person in your team is a different which is something we are proud of and hope that you will both embrace and nurture, helping to build a strong team environment.



As you will be able to see from the above, there are plenty of things to help you feel fulfilled at work and the sense that you have achieved something, however you should also know (Here comes the Superhero quote), 'With great power, comes great responsibility' as the FPM, you will be required to be available at short notice (not all of the time, there is a rota), to respond to incidents that may occur ensuring we continue to deliver the best services possible for the customers.



Your water process knowledge would be desirable, however any chemistry or process experience from any other industry would be advantageous. You will be methodical and motivational in your approach to team management and be able to guide performance in their operational areas. A strong leaderships skill with experience in managing remote team is essential, as your contribution to positively impact team morale is paramount to this role. Your ability to work under pressure and managing conflicting priorities is key in this highly empowering position.
