Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for:
* Overseeing the finance function for two companies, including property management under the holdings business
* Handling intercompany transactions, VAT returns, CIS returns, and CITB levy
* Preparing cashflow forecasts and presenting at monthly meetings
* Chasing outstanding debts and providing commentary for cashflow meetings
* Liaising with external accountants for management accounts, payroll, and quarterly health checks
* Overseeing a Finance Assistant and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
* Processing expenses, credit card payments, and Companies House confirmation statements
* Supporting payroll queries and ensuring compliance with industry requirements
What you will need:
* Previous experience in a similar role such as Finance Manager, Company Accountant, or Financial Controller
* Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and a good grasp of CIS
* Experience in construction or contracting is a bonus, but not essential
* A hands-on, easy-going approach and the ability to fit into a straight-talking, supportive team
