Deputy Operations Manager Overview
The Deputy Operations (Ops) Manager will support scientific and engineering personnel on a laboratory facility decontamination and decommissioning project in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. The individual will work closely with the on-site Operations Manager and project management team to oversee resources, interface with clients, and ensure project milestones are met.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assist the Operations Manager in managing scope, schedule, and budget.
* Support on-site and remote resources, including engineering, scientific, and project management disciplines.
* Interface directly with multiple clients and their representatives.
* Ensure client satisfaction and collaborate with the client's technical team.
* Assist with project resources, technical changes, and scheduled activities.
* Experience with large facility closure projects.
* Experience in Facility Engineering (Mechanical Engineer preferred).
* Experience in biocontainment and laboratory operations is an asset.
* Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Support development and review of technical deliverables based on expertise.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-by-year basis.
* Minimum five (5) years of engineering, scientific, or project management experience. Mechanical Engineer preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience communicating with multiple clients and representatives.
* Willingness to work in biocontainment facilities.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
* Professional Engineering license.
* Registered Biosafety Professional.
* Certified Biosafety Professional.
* Commissioning Agent.
* Project Management Professional.
Security Clearance
* Willing and able to obtain US Government clearance; US Citizenship required.

Travel
Ability to travel regularly to Orient Point, NY or Old Saybrook, CT, including ferry travel. Expect approximately 25% annual non-local travel.
