We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Support Assistant to join a lovely secondary school in the NE9 area of Gateshead. There are multiple opportunities available, with the potential for roles to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role
As a SEMH Teaching Support Assistant, you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
2. Support students with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
3. Act as a positive role model, encouraging confidence and resilience
4. Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
5. Support pupils during lessons, transitions and break times
6. Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate
7. Experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
8. Confident, proactive and not afraid to get stuck in
9. Calm and resilient, with the ability to build strong relationships
10. Understanding of behaviour management strategies
11. Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential.
