Job Title: Mechanical Estimator Location: Kent Salary: £70K - £75K The Role: * Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical services projects across commercial, education, and hospitality sectors. * Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate and competitive pricing. * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure accuracy of costs. * Attend site visits and client meetings to assess project requirements and site-specific considerations. * Collaborate closely with project managers and design teams to ensure pricing reflects scope and client expectations. * Assist with value engineering options and alternative solutions to meet budgetary constraints. * Manage tender enquiries and RFIs (Request for Information) to ensure timely responses. * Contribute to the handover process from pre-construction to project delivery. * Keep up to date with industry pricing trends, materials, and innovations. * Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements. The Company: * A growing building services contractor delivering mechanical, air conditioning, and ventilation projects across commercial sectors. * Projects include office fit-outs (Cat A & B), as well as mechanical installations in the education and hospitality sectors. * Based in Kent and operates throughout London. The Ideal Candidate: * Proven experience working as a mechanical estimator within the building services/M&E sector. * Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, ductwork, and plumbing installations. * Familiar with tendering processes, procurement practices, and estimating software. * Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail. * Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with experience in client-facing roles. * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
