Enterprise Technology comprises circa 7,200 colleagues in globally distributed teams, who are dedicated to the delivery and operation of mission critical core banking services and a wide-range of technology solutions to support HSBC’s Group Functions. Within Enterprise Technology ; Finance, Regulatory Reporting and Cross Functions (‘FinEX’) IT is a key, mission orientated department of 2,000 staff focused on designing, building and operating key platforms in support of the Global Risk & Compliance and Global Finance Functions. FinEX IT is responsible for delivering the core Enterprise Technology mission to drive the sharing of data and modelling capabilities across the Finance and Risk & Compliance Functions whilst also driving engineering best practice across the wider Enterprise Technology community. Purpose of the Role: Reporting functionally to the CIO for Finance, Regulatory Reporting and Cross Functions Technology, the role holder will operate with portfolio responsibilities combining the global technology leadership of HSBC’s Oracle Fusion Technology teams with local entity leadership of all FinEX IT resources in India. As Head of Oracle Fusion Technology, the role holder will be accountable for the end-to-end management of HSBC’s Oracle Fusion implementation, which operates as the bank’s primary Cost Ledger. As a senior leader managing global teams that are partnering with a key vendor to deliver this service, the role holder will empower their teams to ‘get the basics right’ ensuring that all operational, commercial and risk and control targets are met, whilst leveraging the Technology Vision 27 Speed, Scale, Resilience and People pillars to achieve Delivery Excellence, Service Excellence and Engineering Excellence. The Oracle Fusion Technology team sits within Cross Functions technology, as the platform supports Global Finance, Global Procurement and HSBC’s local entities. As Head of FinEX IT India, the role holder will provide local entity leadership for over 1,000 FinEX technology permanent staff and contingent resources based in Pune and Hyderabad that provide critical development and support capabilities to globally-aligned delivery teams. The role-holder plays a critical role supporting their peers on the FinEX IT ExCo by ensuring the effective operation and on-going transformation of their India based teams in line with the FinEX and Enterprise Technology strategies. Role Responsibilities and accountabilities :- Accountable for management of FinEX Change The Bank and Run The Bank budgets for Oracle Fusion effectively, including the escalation and management of any over or under spend identified. Accountable for Operational Excellence in the Fusion Technology team, including the adoption of the full set of FinEX operational tooling and other Bank standard applications that are required to effectively manage budget, costs, headcount, and third party spend. Accountable for the effective service and holistic risk and control management of the Fusion Technology platform. Reduction of Fusion technology incidents and ensuring incident responses minimise customer and colleague impact. Fulfilment of Fusion order book commitments by delivering the right technology in the right way, moving incrementally towards the FinEX 'North Star' architecture Management of key vendor relationships underpinning Oracle Fusion operation and ongoing delivery. Developing strategic relationships with vendors supplying resources to FinEX in India Responsible for partnering with the FinEX Leadership team and local vendors to build an increasingly mature and professional FinEX technology organisation in India Responsible for partnering with the FinEX Leadership and wider Enterprise Technology team to make the FinEX Transformation blueprint real, creating active local communities of practice to share experiences and best practice in achieving: Getting the Basics Right Service Excellence Engineering Excellence Delivery Excellence Architecture Excellence An empowered workforce Accountable for driving initiatives that make FinEX technology in India an engaging place to work and a destination for top talent Requirements Experience as senior technologist with a proven track record of on time delivery and effective management of a production technology estate Experience delivering technology solutions (preferably vendor) in large Finance Services organisations Experience leading large, global technology teams driving innovation and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver A strong engineering background and the ability to operate strategically whilst also drilling down into the detail with the engineering teams to provide engineering leadership Ability to provide technical and conceptual thought leadership, successfully navigate areas of ambiguity and stakeholder disagreement to achieve required outcomes Track record of DevOps and Agile adoption and optimisation in a complex, global environment Effective program management and stakeholder management skills Financial acumen with a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
