Accounts Assistant - Solicitors - Leigh-on-Sea
We’re working with a well-established, friendly and growing regional solicitors’ practice looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant with a view to train up and take full ownership of the finance function.
Practicing for over 100 years, and steadily growing, in a beautiful location in Leigh on Sea,.
This is a standalone, hands-on role where you’ll lead all aspects of finance and work closely with the Partners to support the firm’s continued success.

The Role
You’ll work with the current Finance Manager, developing in order to manage the entire finance function, including:
• Management accounts and monthly reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
• Client and office accounts
• Solicitors Accounts Rules compliance
• VAT returns and bank reconciliations
• Payroll and supplier payments
• Liaising with external accountants
• Supporting Partners with financial insight and decision-making
This is a broad, varied position with real responsibility and visibility across the business.
About You
• Experience in an accounts role for a Solicitors
• Background in legal or professional services (essential)
• Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Comfortable working independently
• Organised, proactive and detail-focused
