Position: Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Rate: £40 - £50 per hour
Eden Brown are currently seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join a leading further education college in Greater Manchester. This is a full time temporary role (36 hours per week paid). This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a passion for teaching and a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, particularly in CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles.
Role Overview
The primary focus of this role will be on the planning, delivery, and assessment of theory-based skills for Level 5 students. You will teach key subjects such as CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles, helping students develop a solid understanding of these core engineering concepts. You will play a pivotal role in supporting student progress and ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess theory-based content in CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles
* Develop and update course materials, including lectures, tutorials, and practical assessments
* Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
* Ensure that all teaching materials are aligned with the curriculum and meet the required academic standardsContribute to the development and enhancement of the Mechanical Engineering programme
Essential Requirements
* A relevant PhD or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Expertise in CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles at a Level 5 (higher education) standard
* Strong experience in teaching and assessment, with the ability to engage and motivate students
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
Desirable Skills
* Experience using industry-standard CAD/CAM software and simulation tools
* Familiarity with the latest trends in thermodynamics and mechanical design principles
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles
* Prior experience in higher education teaching
