Interim Credit Controller (3 months intially)
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their Finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a key role responsible for maintaining strong cash flow, managing financial risk and supporting the business across EMEA. Based in the Theale office 3 days per week with 2 at home.
This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Control & Ledger Management
1. Manage the accounts receivable ledger across EMEA
2. Ensure timely collection of cash receipts and maintain strong cash flow
3. Control order releases and hold accounts beyond agreed credit terms
4. Raise direct debit collections
5. Conduct regular debtor chasing routines
6. Handle customer queries and maintain strong working relationships
7. Conduct portfolio reviews, ledger management and credit limit reviews
8. Submit and monitor applications with credit insurers
9. Maintain accurate overdue reporting
10. Initiate legal or other recovery actions where necessary
Cash Management
11. Daily download and reconciliation of bank transactions
12. Record and allocate multi-currency receipts
13. Post and allocate direct debit payment journals
14. Record and allocate multi-currency payments (suppliers, payroll and other payments)
15. Process journals for monthly FX trades and regular cash sweeps
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
16. Previous experience in a similar Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
17. Experience managing EMEA ledgers would be advantageous
18. Strong understanding of credit management principles
19. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
20. Strong planning, organisation and monitoring skills
21. Analytical and problem-solving capability
22. Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
23. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups required)
24. Experience with Microsoft Business Central would be highly desirable
25. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
26. Team-oriented with a proactive approach
