The Role

Step into a pivotal role as a Social Impact Specialist, where you’ll be driving our ESG and social value agenda forward. From embedding sustainability and inclusive practices into everyday operations to overseeing our Environmental Management System and ISO 14001 certification, your work will ensure we deliver meaningful change across society and the environment.
You’ll lead initiatives that generate real community impact, champion equity and wellbeing, and create transparent, data-driven reporting that inspires trust and accountability with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver ESG strategies that align with our corporate goals and make a tangible difference for our people, partners, and communities
2. Collaborate across teams to embed ESG principles into day-to-day operations
3. Lead the management and continuous improvement of our Environmental Management System, securing and maintaining ISO 14001 certification
4. Champion initiatives that create measurable social value, strengthen community partnerships, and promote equity and wellbeing
5. Oversee and support charity activities across our sites, helping teams achieve their social impact targets
6. Produce clear, credible ESG and social value reports, ensuring compliance with UK and EU requirements as well as Bertelsmann standards
7. Collect, analyse and present data to showcase progress and drive future action
Skills and Experience:
8. Prior experience in ESG, sustainability, or social impact roles would be ideal
9. Strong, demonstrable knowledge of ESG frameworks, social value models, and impact reporting standards
10. Prior experience with EMS and ISO 14001 certification processes would be ideal but not essential
11. Project management expertise with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
12. Excellent communication skills with a knack for data-driven storytelling
13. Confidence working with data tools such as Power BI or Excel to interpret and present insights
14. A proactive, tenacious mindset with a genuine passion for driving positive change
Minimum Criteria:
✅ Experience in maintaining and meeting legislative requirements and compliance standards
✅ Strong demonstrable experience of meeting project objectives, outcomes, and reporting deadlines
✅ Strong skillset in creating and delivering compelling presentations
✅ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✅ Demonstrable experience and ability to meet guidelines and standards
✅ Demonstrable knowledge of ESG
