Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one support to a 9‑year‑old girl with complex SEN needs in the Bodmin area.
* Build a positive, trusting relationship to enable the child to gain independence away from family.
* Support development of personal safety awareness.
* Assist with communication and social skills when interacting in the community.
* Provide personal care support as required.
* Facilitate activities in the local community, both with and without family accompaniment.
Qualifications & Experience
* Some knowledge or personal experience working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
* Previous experience with children requiring additional support or care is highly desirable.
* Ability to work flexibly, including school holidays.
Remuneration & Hours
* Hourly rate of £14.00, with the potential for an increase.
* Approximately 6 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
* Car driving is not required.
Additional Information
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed by Cornwall Council.
All offers of employment will be subject to undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration of which will be handled by Cornwall Council.
