Position Overview
Turners (Soham) Ltd is the UK's largest privately owned transport company. We are looking to recruit LGV Class 1 Container Drivers in our Manchester depot. As a professional driver working for the Turners Container Division, you will be required to demonstrate skill, professionalism and excellent customer service. You will develop close working relationships with your planning and training team, alongside other drivers and staff members in a close‑knit organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all.
Shifts are mainly Monday‑Friday pattern. The haulage industry is one of varying hours and timings, and will require potential candidates to be flexible in their approach to start and finish times. Shift lengths do vary but you will be expected to comply with the Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations at all times. Occasional nights out may be required for day drivers due to unforeseen circumstances.
Requirements and Benefits
* Full HGV Class 1 (C + E) licence (1 year preferred)
* Driver CPC & Tacho Card
* 35 hours CPC
* Container experience (preferred)
* Good knowledge of written and spoken English (no test drives can take place without these documents and minimum PPE of safety boots)
