SRM Recruitment are supporting an award winning UK Plc house-builder to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager for a circa £300mn revenue London division.
This role is based in West London and will be a broadly office based role, whilst not always 5 days per week 3-4 days would probably be the "norm" as far as working pattern is concerned.
Whilst this is a key operating division for our client, with numerous ongoing schemes/developments and JV partners, the qualified level finance team is small (the qualified team is this role and the FD). As such; the requirement is for this role is for a qualified accountant with a genuine desire to be outward facing and proactive with the central, transactional finance team and key operational stakeholders. A desire to work in a fairly autonomous role would also be important.
The Commercial Finance Manager will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for the production of weekly, monthly, and annual management reports.
Key responsibilities:
* Ownership of the preparation and review of the regional cash and P&L forecast on a monthly basis, including strategic planning & budget setting.
* Preparation and review of short term cashflow forecasting over a 3-month period, working with other departments to help understand movements and drive cash efficiency.
* Reviewing cost to completes and raising questions at the monthly project review meetings.
* Review of key balance sheet reconciliations & challenge of assumptions regarding WIP unwind through reviews with the accounting function.
* Work closely with the central finance function to ensure accuracy of accounting systems.
* Preparation of management accounts and supporting commentary on a monthly basis.
* Provide support to the Finance Director in production of monthly Board packs.
* Monthly Joint Venture reporting both internally and to JV partners.
* Business Partner with Sales, Operations and Commercial to drive performance of business.
* Review Working Day 1 flash reports to FD and Division.
* Challenging management and identifying areas for investigation.
* Improving systems and procedures.
* Preparation of schedules for statutory audit.
* Work closely with the FD and MD in preparing ad-hoc management reports as required.
* Liaise with and help lead reporting initiatives with the Finance Director.
To be considered you will be/have:
* A qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA) with PQE already working in a commercial finance / FP&A role. Its not essential but a preference would be to property/development sector experience
* Proven track record in producing concise management information, budget variances and a strong eye for detail
* An ability to build relationships with commercial teams
* Strong Excel a given
