We have a vacancy for a Clinical Scientist within the Radiotherapy Physics Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and motivated HCPC registered clinical scientist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Rosemere Cancer Centre.
Applications from staff close to registration will be considered for appointment under the terms of Agenda for Change annex 21.
You will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of 17 clinical scientists, 12 dosimetrists, 8 engineers, and a quality manager. We also currently have 3 STP trainees and are actively recruiting apprentice engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct treatment planning on Pinnacle and Raystation.
* Perform independent VMAT plan verification using Sun Nuclear DoseCHECK.
* Support SABR for primary lung tumours and oligometastases, as well as intracranial SRS.
* Ensure equipment is commissioned for clinical use and operating within defined specifications.
* Produce and check individual patient treatment plans accurately.
* Support research and development across the radiotherapy physics service.

Located on the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Royal Preston Hospital site, it provides external beam radiotherapy for Lancashire and South Cumbria's adult population (1.6 million). Facilities include:
