Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Non Medical Prescriber)

Are you a Senior Nurse and Non-Medical Prescriber looking to work as part of a dynamic and supportive prescribing team? We would like you to join our Community CAMHS Team supporting the non‑medical prescribing needs for children with mental health needs on the Isle of Wight. This role requires a qualified Nurse Prescriber (V300) who has experience working with children and families and holds a current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You will be working as part of the wider CAMHS team on the Isle of Wight. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, completing specialist assessments and delivering interventions to children, young people, and their parents/carers, including pharmacological interventions as a Non‑Medical Prescriber.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist assessments, nursing interventions and prescribing of medications (where required) to children and young people within Isle of Wight CAMHS; participate in review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area and support and implement changes to practice; liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice; be able to undertake audit activity and supervision to other staff in service area/care group.
Understand psychosocial interventions to include psychoeducation, wellness recovery action plans, Delivering with Delivering Well and discharge planning.
Qualifications
* Communication/Relationship skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff, patients, families, carers, and professionals.
o Ability to establish links with other services and professionals.
* Analytical & Judgement skills:
o Effective risk management.
o Good knowledge of service objectives.
o Understand performance reports and their relation to team.
* Planning & Organisational skills:
o Manage and delegate tasks.
o Lead clinical discussions in team.
o Undertake audit activity.
o Plan staff rotas as needed.
o Lead the team in absence of Service Manager.
o Provide supervision for staff, including clinical, managerial and professional staff.
o Develop training sessions for staff, students, professionals, and agencies.
o Participate in staff recruitment and selection, absence management and other staff related issues.
o Ensure team has adequate resources to deliver service.
o Awareness of service operational policy and authorised signatory.
o Understand team dynamics.
o Use Trust IT systems to enter patient information, case notes, risk, eCPA.
o Produce documents and reports using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
o Communicate to patients and professionals using letters and templates.
* Physical skills:
o Physically fit to undertake duties related to service area.
o Awareness of PMVA interventions.
