* Hours Per Week: 44 (4 shifts per week)
* Shifts: 8am-8pm
Join us at The Oaks Care Home, part of the Sandstone Care Group. Situated in Newtown, Powys, this luxurious 73-bed, purpose-built nursing and residential home opened in January 2020 and offers state-of-the-art facilities. These include a coffee shop/bistro, hair & nail salon, activities room, landscaped gardens, and advanced care technology.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will take on a leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents. Your key responsibilities include:
* Personalised Care: Assisting residents with personal care, hygiene, meals, and daily activities while promoting dignity and independence.
* Companionship: Offering emotional support and fostering meaningful relationships.
* Leadership Duties: Supervising and mentoring care staff, conducting appraisals, supervisions, and interviews, administering medication and maintaining accurate records and supporting care planning, audits, and liaising with healthcare professionals.
* Promoting Wellbeing: Encouraging residents to engage in activities that enrich their lives, tailored to their interests and abilities.
* Upholding Standards: Ensuring the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced, compassionate leader with a passion for elderly care. Ideal candidates will have:
* Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting.
* A warm, positive personality and a calm, professional approach under pressure.
* A Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to achieve it).
* Confidence with record-keeping and using technology.
* Flexibility to adapt to the needs of residents and the home.
