Are you a creative, innovative Design & Technology Teacher eager to inspire the next generation of inventors, engineers, and designers? A highly regarded independent school in Reading is looking to appoint a dynamic Design & Technology Teacher to join its forward-thinking Technology Department from January 2026. This full-time, permanent role offers a rare opportunity to teach in an environment that celebrates innovation, design excellence, and academic achievement. The Role You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3–5, with a focus on creativity, sustainability, and technological problem-solving. Lessons will engage students in product design, engineering, and digital fabrication, utilising tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CAD/CAM software. The successful candidate will be expected to promote real-world applications through project-based learning and hands-on experimentation. In addition to teaching, you will help run extra-curricular design clubs, enterprise challenges, and national competitions, as well as collaborate with the Art and Computer Science departments on STEAM initiatives. The school places a strong emphasis on developing students’ independence and design thinking skills in preparation for university and beyond.
