Job Overview: As a Commercial Lead / Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring cost efficiency and effective budget control throughout the construction process. Working closely with a talented team, you will contribute to project success and showcase your quantity surveying expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead all financial matters related to construction projects, from tender stage to completion.
2. Manage cost estimates, budgets, and procurement processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.
3. Conduct cost analysis, identify potential cost-saving measures, and provide recommendations.
4. Prepare and evaluate subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
5. Collaborate with the project team to monitor and control expenses, addressing financial risks and variations.
6. Provide accurate financial reporting, highlighting project performance to senior management.
7. Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
8. Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team, promoting professional growth.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Commercial Lead or Manager within construction, ideally with a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
* In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying practices, contract administration, and cost management.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets effectively.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects.
* Sound understanding of construction contracts and legislation.
* Professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines are advantageous.
