Overview An opportunity for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist at a low and medium secure hospital in Charlwood, Surrey. The unit treats male patients aged 18+ who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
You will be working for one of UK’s leading healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission.
Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit.
Conduct risk assessments and review them regularly.
Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs.
Assess physical health.
Ensure effective liaison with referring teams.
Facilitate regular CPA review meetings.
Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act.
Involve in quality, inspections, and governance processes.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders (desirable).
Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+.
Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team.
In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation.
Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles.
Requirements Full GMC Registration
is mandatory.
