Salary: Mulberry Pay Scale, Grade Beech £27,008- £28,119 pa pro rata

We are seeking a friendly and organised Part-Time Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing a warm and professional welcome. The receptionist role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and supporting the administrative needs of the hospice.
Reporting to the HR Database & Reception Manager, you will provide a professional and welcoming front of house service dealing with patients, visitors and staff. You will have excellent communication skills, be flexible, punctual and reliable. You will be comfortable working in a hospice environment.
Royal Trinity Hospice is set-in award-winning gardens on the edge of Clapham Common, with easy access by public transport and great local amenities.
Key Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Receptionist
* Professionally greet all visitors to the hospice and provide a visitor badge if necessary.
* Take phone calls effectively and direct relevant calls to the appropriate staff or department.
* Deal with queries kindly and confidentially and ensure relevant messages are passed to the appropriate team member on a timely basis.
* Take donations from people in a helpful, friendly and understanding manner.
* Receive and dispatch deliveries to relevant departments.
* Contribute to the planning, preparation and delivery of key events and training held at or on behalf of the hospice.
* Ensure the front desk and reception area are always tidy and presentable
* Provide cover for planned and unplanned leave as required.
* Work closely with the Porters as required
* To greet visitors at the hospice and direct them as necessary, ensuring security considerations are taken in to account.
* To act as a central source of communication co-ordination between visitors, outpatients, suppliers, staff, and internal departments.
* Support with administrative duties including; ordering stationery supplies and equipment (including stock monitoring and storage), distribute the incoming mail, franking and posting of outgoing mail, generate posters for information.
* Prepare staff location sheets and contact lists.
* To liaise with the Royal Mail, and other delivery organisations (couriers)
* Frank outgoing mail
* To keep a list of patients updated by checking with the wards for any changes such as admissions, discharges and deaths
Skills and experience required
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills (face to face, in writing and over the telephone).
* Ability to communicate with sincerity and empathy.
* Good computer literacy skills.
* Experience of working in a confidential environment.
* Ability to work considerately and effectively with volunteers.
* Ability to deal effectively with patients, donors and visitors with respect, tact and sensitivity.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills (face to face, in writing and over the telephone).
