Closing Date: 23rd November 2025

A great opportunity has arisen for a Web Content Editor to join our busy digital team looking after the operational management and support of the websites for Herefordshire Council, Wye Valley NHS Trust and Hoople Ltd, plus several other Hoople customers.

We know that people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box. We realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist. So, if you can do most of what we are asking for, please apply, you could be a great fit for the role!

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced person to join our Digital Team to help deliver great public services that are not only highly effective but also easily accessible. We have championed the digitisation of services to ensure we are giving residents the greatest possible access to council services and the services of other customers that we serve.

As a Web Content Editor, you will be working in an agile environment providing content editing on multiple websites, fixing and advising on accessibility issues, updating existing content and creating new content for different service areas. You will be working alongside Web Developers and Forms Builders to create seamless user journeys and provide accessible content.

We utilise a mixture of low-code platforms and fully developed systems to provide the best solution for our users. This includes the use of Umbraco CMS, Granicus GovService (Firmstep) and Microsoft 365 low-code platforms, whilst making the most of Microsoft’s .NET, SQL, and Azure development platforms in order to build solutions and integrate with back-office systems.

You will be highly motivated and able to work and prioritise workloads independently whilst working in multi-disciplined project teams with colleagues and wider organisation to create high quality solutions that make a real difference to our users.

You will work across a range of digital projects and engage with multiple different stakeholders to manage content delivery. You will work within agreed standards collaboratively with the digital team, take a lead on work packages when directed, ensuring high quality content and support are delivered. You will investigate continual improvement opportunities and learn new technologies to best fit the solution.

Key Skills And Experience

* Experience in creating and delivering web-based content to internal and external audiences
* An excellent understanding of HTML, and experience in the practical application of HTML in a real-world business environment.
* An excellent understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and experience of managing web accessibility

You will thrive using agile methods and enjoy working openly, collaboratively and as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on one or more projects at a time.

What We Offer

Hoople offer 26 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays rising to 31 days after 5 years’ service, and an Aviva salary sacrifice pension scheme. We also provide a flexible benefits scheme which provides a range of benefits and discounts across retailers, the option to buy or sell annual leave, cycle to work scheme and healthcare plans.

We welcome applicants whatever their personal characteristics or social identity. All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.

The following candidates will be interviewed if they meet the essential criteria for the post they are applying for:

* Those who indicate that they have a disability. This is part of our commitment to the “Disability Confident” scheme
* Those who indicate in their supporting statement that they are an Armed Forces Veteran or Reservist. This is part of our pledge to support the Armed Forces Covenant
