Centralised Outpatient Services at North Bristol NHS Trust support the clinical divisions and specialties to administer their outpatient services. The service comprises a patient‑facing Reception Team, a telephone and email‑based Patient Contact Centre and administrative Booking and Referrals Teams.

Responsibilities
 * Attend to patients, carers and visitors, greeting them and addressing multiple queries, including hospital transport issues and booking urgent follow‑up appointments.

 * Provide competent use of information technology systems.
 * Support the Reception Team as part of a multi‑disciplinary environment.
 * Maintain professional communication skills and convey empathy, calm and friendliness.
 * Operate within established processes and procedures.
Person Specification
Education / Training
 * GCSE or equivalent qualifications, including English Language and Mathematics.
 * IT literate – email, word processing, inputting data into a computer system.
 * NVQ Level 2 Customer Service (desirable).
 * Understanding of outpatient department and/or NHS (desirable).
 * Working knowledge of a hospital PAS system (desirable).
Work Experience
 * Experience dealing with numerous queries face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
 * General office administrative duties and clerical experience.
 * Customer service experience.
 * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
 * Good written and verbal communication skills.
 * Calm, organised, multitasking under pressure.
 * Ability to follow processes and procedures.
 * Ability to undertake and apply training.
 * Flexible and can work independently within a wider team.
